I wish I could say that I am shocked, or even mildly surprised at such wretched behavior by humans – sadly, I am not. This week has been a gruesome reminder of why the term humane does not carry with it much weight. Between the massacre in Virginia, the continued violence at the hands of terrorists, and now reading this, I am besieged with grief for a lost world.
Thankfully, there is a source for light in the darkness, an answer to all of our troubles, and he too died at hands of a wicked world – but he brings hope and good news! May we trust in Jesus all the more in dark times such as these.
